2010 celebrations at Maandani Secondary School in Kaloleni
The 2010 District World Aids Day celebrations will be held at Maandani Secondary School in Kaloleni at the Coast of Kenya. The World AIDS Day 2010 is all about raising awareness to tackle HIV prejudice and help stop the spread of HIV virus.
The 2010 theme for the day is “Access and Human Rights”. The theme is designed to encourage political leaders to keep their commitment to achieve universal access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care, and support.
There will be speeches by the different stakeholders in The district including the government officer giving the latest statistics and trends of HIV/AIDS in Kaloleni District.
According to The latest Kenya Demographic and Health Survey , the youth are the most vulnerable in terms of HIV infection in Kenya. The HIV prevalence for girls is 2.8 per cent while that of boys is 0.5 per cent in the 15-19 years age bracket. For those in 20-24 years bracket, women have 6.4 per cent HIV prevalence while it is 1.5 per cent for men.

To prevent new infections, combinations of HIV prevention strategies are to be adopted at the coast region.
